ANDIE AND
RUFFY STORIES
There’s no better way to excite young children about reading than to share stories that connect to their worlds—in which they can “see” themselves in the characters and situations. In our whimsical Andie and Ruffy stories, children choose the version of Andie they want to read about, and can make a different choice each time they read.
Andie stories prompt family conversation and storytelling that are particular to each family.
Children will identify as Andie strives to meet universal early childhood milestones—getting dressed, overcoming nighttime fears, venturing out into the world. And helping Andie navigate each challenge is Ruffy, a stuffed-animal companion, who imaginatively responds to and cheers Andie on.
Our Andie stories are crafted to prompt fun conversation and storytelling in every family. When conversations like these begin early, they help children develop their sense of self and pride in their families. Classrooms share Andie stories to celebrate our society’s wonderful diversity, as well as our common humanity.
